Mesquite OHV Staging Area
The City of Mesquite celebrated the opening of the Mesquite Off Highway Vehicles (OHV) Staging Area on Thursday, January 27, 2022, with city officials and local offroad enthusiasts in attendance for the ribbon-cutting.
Over 50 OHVs with owners, spectators, and related agencies were in attendance to witness Mesquite’s Mayor Al Litman cut the ribbon and to celebrate the achievement of all the hard work to make the staging area happen. The project took more than a year of planning to make come to fruition, the project was a collaboration between the City of Mesquite, the Kokopelli ATV Club, and the Virgin River Coalition Recreation committee.
This project was partially funded through a grant from the Nevada Commission on Off-Highway Vehicles, a program that promotes putting Nevada’s OHV registration dollars back where they belong, in the user’s home dirt.

About the Mesquite OHV Staging Area
Off highway motorized recreation provides in excess of $90 Million dollars annually to the Nevada economy and comprises approximately 8% of all visitors to Mesquite. This project will bring added value to OHV recreation and tourism to the fenced area by providing a restroom, picnic tables, wash station, waste receptacles, lighted poles, and security cameras to off-road enthusiasts using the new area.
